Microsoft OAuth

Software.com supports Microsoft OAuth. If you receive an error when trying to log in, like “Need Admin approval”, that means your organization has a security policy that prevents regular users from approving new applications. This is a common practice for security-conscious companies.

To fix this, an Entra ID (Azure AD) administrator from your team needs to grant "admin consent" for the Software.com application. This is a one-time approval that will allow all your users to log in.


Granting Admin Consent for Software.com

Invite an Entra ID (Azure AD) administrator to your organization on Software.com and ask them to complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the invite link
  2. Log in to Software.com
  3. You will see the same "Need admin approval" screen
  4. Because you are an admin, they will see an additional option to “Consent on behalf of your organization."
  5. You must check this box and click "Accept."

Once they do this, the application is approved for your whole organization, and all other users will be able to log in successfully.
