Quickstart

Getting started only takes a few minutes. You will first need to create a Software.com account

Next, connect your company’s Git provider (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket) to create a Software.com organization. We recommend connecting all of your repositories in your organization to provide the best view of your data. You can always exclude repositories from your data at any point in the future in your organization’s settings.

Make sure you have admin permissions in your Git provider. If you’re unable to connect, invite your company’s Git admin to set up your account.

DATA PROCESSING

We never read, transmit, or store source code. Our Git integrations only collect metadata about your organization’s activity. We request minimum permissions and use read-only API calls to analyze Git metadata. Additionally, we are fully SOC 2 compliant and partner with Drata to monitor our security posture.

After connecting a Git provider, you will be able to see two weeks of data in just a few minutes. We continue to backfill your last six months of history; when your data is done processing, you will get an email and an in-app notification that your data is ready to view.

INVITING TEAM MEMBERS

You can invite as many team members as you want without any additional cost. Our tiered pricing model is based on the amount of Active Engineers within organization. To invite team members, go to Settings, navigate to the App Users tab, and click Invite users at the top of the page.
