Pull Requests with GitHub Copilot Activity

DEFINITION

Pull requests with GitHub Copilot activity are determined based on the author’s usage of GitHub Copilot.

HOW IT’S MEASURED

Before GitHub is connected, a pull request had GitHub Copilot activity if it was created after the author installed GitHub Copilot.

After GitHub is connected, our platform detects Copilot usage daily, improving the accuracy of our algorithms. A pull request had GitHub Copilot activity if the author used GitHub Copilot between the first commit and merge. We apply a 1-day buffer before the first commit to account for usage during development.

Copilot activity is any interaction with Copilot functionality, such as receiving a code suggestion, chatting with Copilot Chat, or using Copilot on a mobile device.
